Sakurai Mbanda CA(Z), CA(Mw)
Chairman
Sakurai was appointed the founding Chairman in March 2024.
He has over 22 years’ working experience across East and Southern Africa as a finance and audit executive. He has led teams in markets including Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Rwanda and Malawi where he gained valuable experience in Leadership and strategic management, Investments, Credit Analysis & Management, Policy and Compliance, Audit and Risk Management and Corporate Finance.
Sakurai is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants Boards in Zimbabwe and Malawi. He holds a Master of Business Leadership Degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA), Honours Bachelor of Accounting Science (UNISA) and Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from National University of Science and Technology (NUST). He also holds various Post-Graduate Certificates and Diplomas in Strategy and Leadership.

Evermay Chenai Chironga
Managing Director
Evermay is the Managing Director.
Evermay is a seasoned banker with an illustrious career spanning over 16 years. She has acquired core competencies and gained unparalleled knowledge in treasury management, compliance, risk management and retail banking. She has reputable and vast experience through working with various organizations. She has worked with exporters and importers, pension funds, asset managers, insurance companies, parastatals, offshore investors and interbank counterparties. Evermay has distinct knowledge in designing innovative financial solutions for corporates and individuals.
Some of the major highlights include implementation of developmental finance, innovative lending initiatives, foreign exchange trading, fixed income, deposit mobilization and deal structuring. She is a holder of a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Management and Economics from Rhodes University in South Africa and a Master’s in Business Administration degree from The Women’s University in Africa. Evermay also sits on the board of a local media company.

Faith Ruvimbo Chimbambo
Finance Director
Faith Ruvimbo was appointed the founding Finance Director in March 2024.
Faith is a Certified Chartered Accountant and practising Public Accountant who holds an Honours Bachelor of Accounting Science with over 10 years industry experience. Key to this position, Faith is a Certified Expert in Microfinance through the Frankfurt School of Business and Management. In addition, she is a holder of a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Management majoring in Financial Management, Money and Capital Markets. She holds certification in Financial Modelling and Valuation
Analysis and several other professional qualifications from:
• Institute of Chartered Accountants Zimbabwe (ICAZ)
• Institute of Directors Zimbabwe (IODZ)
• Insurance Council of Zimbabwe (ICZ)
• Corporate Finance Institute (CFI)
Faith is an active Rotarian and sits on various boards in the Development space, Mining, Construction, Security, Energy, Sports and Recreation.

Mutsa Maswaure
Non Executive Director
Mutsa was appointed Non Executive Director in March 2024.
Mutsa is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Practising Public Accountant who completed her articles of clerkship with KPMG Chartered Accountants. She is a holder of B.Compt Accounting Science Degree and a Certificate in Project Management. Collectively, Mutsa has over ten years’ experience in the accounting and auditing field in which her experience spans across banking, insurance to the tobacco industry.
Mutsa is the Chairperson of the Smart Money Audit Committee where she heads the Audit and Risk Committee providing insight on financial reporting and risk and compliance issues. She serves as the Chairman of a local insurance company as well as a Private Voluntary Organisation in the development space.

Daphine Auxillia Ndengwa
Non Executive Director
Daphine Auxillia was appointed Non Executive Director in March 2024.
Daphine is a young legal practitioner who emerged in private practice as an in-house legal practitioner for 3
years at Golden KnotLegal Aid Society. She also expanded in professional horizons by seeking new challenges in the area of legal services, marketing, and administration and worked for High Ground Legal Aid Society for 2years. Daphine has since then worked for Mutuso, Taruvinga & Mhiribidi Attorneys as a Legal Assistant since 2019.
Daphine is a registered member of the Law Society of Zimbabwe. Her portfolio includes providing legal services and advice in the Law of Estate Administration, Regulatory issues, Trusts, Commercial law, Intellectual property, Legal research, and Litigation. Daphine is the Chairperson of the Smart Money Risk Committee where she heads the Risk Committee providing insight on risk and compliance issues.

Bright Mahiya
Non Executive Director
Bright was appointed Non-Executive Director in March 2024.
Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer at AEROCROP Private Limited, an organisation spearheading agro-processing initiatives aimed at minimizing post-harvest loses.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance, Economics and Supply Chain Management from the University of Kwazulu Natal (UKZN); a Master in Business Administration (MBA) with specialisation in strategic leadership from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) and is a certified project manager (PMP).
His experience in the ICT and telecommunications sector spans over eight years and has led multiple ICT applications and infrastructure projects and programmes

Tendeso Thresa Chafanza
Non Executive Director
Tendeso Thresa was appointed a Non Executive Director in March 2024.
Tendeso is a Social entrepreneur with vast experience in social work and human resources management. She is a holder of an Honors Degree in Social Work from the University of Zimbabwe. She has five years’ experience in Social work and Human Resources Management. Tendeso has done voluntary work in various Non-Governmental Organizations in Zimbabwe. She is registered with the National Association of Social workers.
Tendeso is also passionate about women empowerment in alignment with Smart Money’s objective in providing working capital to female run businesses.
